Basic Degree Non-Credit Study
Canadians, permanent residents or current students wishing to audit an Emmanuel basic degree course must have permission from both the college and instructor. Priority may be given to those with prior education formation in the course topic.
Course instruction and readings are in English. Auditors must meet the minimum English language competency standard.
Courses that are audited will not be assigned a grade; neither will they be considered for credit. Instructors will not mark written work for auditors. Auditors are expected to prepare for classes. Guidelines for participating in class exercises and discussions are to be established in consultation with the instructor.
Graduate Non-Credit Study
Canadians, permanent residents or current students wishing to audit an Emmanuel graduate course must demonstrate academic qualification to take the course, the ability to participate at an advanced level, and have the permission of the instructor.
Courses that are audited will not be assigned a grade; nor will they be considered for credit. Instructors will not mark written work for auditors. Auditors are expected to prepare for classes. Guidelines for participating in class exercises and discussions are to be established in consultation with the instructor.
Current graduate students should refer to the applicable section in their TST Handbook for auditing procedures.
BD Audit Application Process
1. Complete the BD Student Audit Application within the following time frame:
- Fall Session - August 12-19
- Winter Session - December 9-16
- Summer Session - April 19-May 5
2. Upon approval of your application, a confirmation email and fee invoice link will be sent to you to pay your audit fee online with a credit card via PayPal.
Audit Costs
Audit cost: $391.19 + HST
Senior cost: $195.60 + HST
For those currently enrolled in the Toronto School of Theology, the auditing fee will vary. At Emmanuel College, the audit fee is waived for full-time (a minimum of 3.5 credit courses per fall/winter; and a minimum of 2.0 per summer) TST students. Part-time students will be charged the full audit amount.
There will be no refund after the second week of classes.
